Gen-Z things!

My daughter Charley is currently doing her year 10 exams. Her last exam is "mandatory history" where the curriculum includes World War ll.

I was testing her on her notes: dates, places, details - how did the war come about, how did Hitler gain such power, how many people were taken to concentration camps. How many were killed.

When we got to the end she said to me very quietly:

"I feel that such a horrific crime can't be understood through a test. The facts are much less important than what we learn and do differently".

This gave me goose-bumps. She may be a teenager, but sometimes she is wise beyond her years.

Real learning has happened.

It makes me proud that she sees the difference between what is required (the test) and what is significant (humanity).

Genz are going to do great things! They already are.
