What does your culture feel like?

What does your culture feel like?
The best way to observe culture is “on the ground”.
Like at the hairdressers.
My last hairdresser was excellent - she had over 30 years of experience. I loved how she knew my hair and what I wanted (and didn’t want).
But she was gossipy. Abit judgemental. She would subtlety complain about the owner, and other hairdressers. The cultural vibe was “underground passive aggressive.” I tolerated it for years - because I was only there for a few hours and I loved how she did my hair. But I didn’t like or enjoy the culture. In fact - I felt drained coming away.
But then a new hairdresser moved into my local area. My daughters wanted to try it - so I took them there. The vibe was so different. Professional. Friendly. Uplifting, genuine conversations. All the hairdressers clearly enjoyed working together. No negativity.
AND they were also excellent hairdressers.
I cancelled my standing appointment at my old hairdressers and now I only come here.
Great hair. Great humans. Great culture.
Changing culture is complicated - but experiencing a culture is very simple.
